Who Is Included On The Directory?

The directory is open to a range of practitioners working with survivors of religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and high-control or cultic recovery; including psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists, social workers, coaches, and other support professionals.

Practitioners are listed under one of three tiers - Cult Recovery Specialist, Religious Trauma Specialist, or Religious Trauma Informed.

This reflects the depth and focus of their training and experience in this space. If you work with people navigating faith transitions, leaving high-control environments, or processing the longer-term impacts of religious trauma, there's likely a place for you here.

Why Do I Need To Be ‘Approved’?

Due to the sensitive nature of religious and cultic trauma, and the harm that can come from a lack of understanding and awareness, we want to make sure we aren't contributing to that harm by skipping a vetting process.

We also reserve the right to decline or cancel a practitioner's listing if concerns arise. These decisions will be made in conjunction with our Advisory Committee, and if that ever happens, we'll offer a prorated refund for the time remaining.

We're not gatekeeping - just making sure people are as safe as possible.
